2nd Annual Percutaneous Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia and a significant public health problem in the United States, affecting 2.2 million Americans and almost 5% of the population over 69 and 8% of the population over 80. Ablation of atrial fibrillation has become a routine, safe and effective approach in many medical centers and should be considered early in the management of appropriately selected patients.
This course is directed at those interested in incorporating percutaneous catheter ablation into their clinical management of patients with atrial fibrillation. Several leaders in the field will cover general approaches to the management of atrial fibrillation, patient selection, current technology available for ablation procedures and their success rates, complications, management of post ablation arrhythmias, and patient follow up.
